**ANNOUNCEMENTS**

The Berks County West Nile Virus Program will be conducting a truck mounted ultra-low volume (ULV) mosquito control operation in Union Township at the Union Township Recreational Area and some of the surrounding community, Berks County. The spray will also include E Linden St, George St, Union St, Mt. Airy Rd, Washington St, Garey Rd, Lanie Dr, E 4th St, Jeffery Pl, and Cory’s Ct. Residential and recreational areas will be sprayed for adult mosquitoes. The control work will begin late evening around 8:30 PM on Wednesday, August 06, 2025.

High populations of adult nuisance mosquitoes and mosquitos capable of transmitting West Nile virus have been detected near these residential and recreational areas.

The truck mounted ULV spray will be conducted by the Berks County Conservation District. I will be on-site for the application. The business license for the BCCD is BU 1391. The product used will be aqua Duet applied at a rate less than 1.0 oz/ac. This product is designed to provide quick knockdown and effective control of adult mosquitoes.

Weather conditions and other unexpected events could delay or cancel this spray operation. The rain date for this operation is Monday, August 11, 2025. Please contact me at 610-372-4657 Ext. 216 or if you have any questions or concerns.
