On Saturday, September 7, 2019, the Berks County Conservation District held it’s first annual Clay Shoot Fundraiser to benefit the Berks County Envirothon! The District hosted 6 teams of shooters for a wildly successful event at M&E Sporting Clays in Moselem Springs.
The Berks County Conservation District would like to thank the Event Sponsors, Dinner Sponsors, and Station Sponsors who helped make this event a possibility!
OUR EVENT BENEFITED THE BERKS COUNTY ENVIROTHON!
WHAT IS ENVIROTHON? — Envirothon is a fun, academic competition that challenges both high school and middle school students to think critically about the natural world and what role they play in it.
This natural resource environmental education program combines classroom learning with outdoor activities to test student’s knowledge of: soils and land use, aquatic ecology, forestry, wildlife, and environmental issues.
The Berks County Conservation District, in cooperation with partner conservation groups, hosts envirothon each year. Following the county competition, the first place finisher in the high school category has the opportunity to compete in the Pennsylvania State Envirothon competition where teams from each county go head to head to test their knowledge about all things ecology and the natural world.
